Sneak Peak into a Newborn Session

Congratulations! You’ve booked your newborn session! Doesn’t it feel good to check that off your list?

When your baby arrives, it will be challenging enough to find time to take a shower - much less take photos! But you will definitely want to remember all these little details - from her tiny toes, to the way you felt when you first held her.

Now, you can focus on getting some sleep, and know that I’ll make sure you get the photos that capture your sweet baby and your family.

These photos are an example of a newborn gallery. Can’t you just feel the unconditional love?

When baby is awake, I love to start with the parents interacting with him. Smiles just come naturally during a newborn session! Mom and Dad can’t stop smiling when they gaze at their new little man.

If grandparents are in town, it’s special to include them in the session too!

I LOVE the snuggle photos, when family members just love on their baby. When your child is older, he is going to love looking back at these and seeing what everyone looked like when he was born. And he will see how much he was loved from the very beginning.

Some parents only want these natural photos, of the baby interacting with the family. Other parents also want a few more posed shots with baby alone in a bowl/basket. We can try these types of images if your baby is young enough to still like being swaddled and curled up. Once she is two weeks old, she may want to stretch out, or be too big to fit in the props. It also works best if baby still sleeps often, so they settle down into the prop and sleep. But we can always try and see what your baby likes!

This session was of a little boy, taken in my home studio. The benefits of a studio session is that I have gorgeous soft window light for a consistent look. I love natural, earth tones, so we used a lot of browns and creams for this little one. The parents’ clothing complimented the colors used.

The props, wraps, baby outfits and backdrops are all part of my studio collection.

These are a few photos from the gallery, to give you an idea of what to expect. Each session is unique, but the goal is capture the tender emotions felt as you get to know your newest member of the family!
