Peasley Newborn Home Session

Each birth story is so unique. It’s a story that connects us to other mothers; a story we tell our babies when they’re older. I’m so happy that this beautiful mama was able to have the story she desired - a quiet birth at home. Midwives and natural deliveries were my personal choices when I had my babies, and I would have loved to have been able to deliver in the comfort and quiet of my own home. No pressure, no interruptions … just digging down deep and letting your body take over. So pure and natural.

This sweet baby had a timeline of her own, and decided to make her appearance earlier than expected. I jumped in the car and raced to her house as soon as mom contacted me, but she was faster than the traffic! Sadly, I missed the actual birth, but was so honored to capture her big sisters meeting her for the first time!

Seeing and filming the joy on their little faces when they ran in the bedroom was everything!! Little Avie kept repeating in awe, “She comed out! She comed out!” After what must have felt like a lifetime of waiting, they finally got to see her face, and touch her silky skin. (Riley asked if she was born wearing her headband! How precious is that?) Soon she was smothered in kisses, fully accepted as their new little red-headed sidekick!

For this family, I was able to film and shoot the first time Dad held his new daughter, the sound of her first cries, and the reactions of grandparents when they heard the news. These are moments that happen ONCE. Moments that change your life forever. And every time they watch the film, and look through the photos, they will go right back to these beautiful moments!
